Our Pastor

Is the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Marie) Ramsey Jr. and the grandson of the late Mr. & Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Ramsey Sr. & Mr. & Mrs. Clarence (Carrie) Hunter.
He is a 1987 graduate of Sumter High School, a 2007 graduate of St. Leo’s University with a BA Degree in Business Administration, and a 2019 graduate of Erskine Theological Seminary, Due West, SC, with a Master of Divinity degree. On June 19, 1999, he married the love of his life, the former Angela D. McBride. With this union, he was blessed with two sons: Robert and the late Rodric Andrews, and four wonderful grandchildren, Robert (RJ), Brielle, Alyana, and
Taylor Andrews. He has one brother, Kenneth J. Ramsey.

Pastor Ramsey is employed with Sumter School District as a Behavioral Interventionist atthe Sumter Academy for Support and Intervention, the Worship Master of Do-Right
Lodge #377 and a member of the Sigma Delta Kappa chapter of Phi Beta Sigma of
Sumter.

Pastor Ramsey was licensed to preach God’s word by the African Methodist Episcopal
Church on March 20, 2011. On September 13, 2014, Pastor Ramsey received his
Itinerant Deacon Ordination from Bishop Richard Franklin Norris.

On November 13, 2015, Pastor Ramsey was appointed the Pastor of Pine Hill AME
Church- Latta, SC. Since then, Pastor Ramsey has continued to do what the Lord
required because on September 20, 2019, Pastor Ramsey received his Itinerant
Elders Ordination from Bishop Samuel L. Green Sr. On October 3, 2021, Pastor
Ramsey was appointed the proud Pastor of “Thee MTP” Mt. Pleasant AME Church,
Lynchburg, SC.

Pastor Ramsey enjoys spending time with his family and watching football, basketball,
and track and field. He also enjoys talking to and meeting new people. He feels
that it is an honor to do God’s work.
